Mata brings the EFL Cup’s final closer

Juan Mata scored the first goal against Hull City (2-0). United put their pass to the final on track in this tournament. The Spaniard has scored 5 goals and 5 assists in 11 EFL Cup’s games. With Man United he’s scored 33 goals in 129 games.

Juan Mata remains in spectacular shape. United number 8, a starter again with the Red Devils, scored the first goal in the win against Hull City in the first leg of the EFL Cup’s Semifinal. Just before the end of the match Fellaini scored the definitive 2-0. In a couple of weeks we’ll know what’ll happen but the score at Old Trafford invites to optimism.

The Asturian was the protagonist of the first half. On the 2′ with a great shot, he obliged Jakupovic to perform with an excellent save; on the 19′ he assisted Mkhitaryan after a brilliant move although his mate from Armenia couldn’t score. After half time (56′) Juan Mata’s great moment came. The Spaniard scored against Hull taking advantage of a header from Mkhitaryan.

This goal means Mata’s 5th goal in 11 EFL Cup games (he has also assisted 5 times). To add to this he has scored 33 times in 129 games at United (at Chelsea he had reached that number in 135 matches). After the game, he was named Man of the Match in United’s Twitter account. Mourinho’s men add another victory to this impressive streak (9 consecutive wins and 15 without losing).
