Christmas is coming

Hi everyone,

Christmas is here. Since I was a kid I’ve always loved this time of the year… And I still do, even if the way I spend Christmas since I came to England is different. As you know there is no break in the Premier League -this is the busiest month of the season, actually- so it’s a very important period of the year when you can win -or lose- a lot of points in just a few days. In fact, this week we play on Friday and Sunday.

Our goal is to finish the year in the best possible way: with two more victories. Against Aston Villa we couldn’t get our seventh win in a row. It was a complicated game. They scored first, a great goal from Benteke, and didn’t let much space for us to come back. We were able to tie the game thanks to Radamel’s header -I’m very happy for him, I think he deserved it because he works hard every day- and at the end of the game, despite Aston Villa were playing with ten men, we couldn’t score the second goal. Villa Park is a tough stadium for every team, although United must try to win always, in every place. We should have taken more advantage of those minutes after the red card, but they defended very well and even tried the counter-attack with some danger.

Also in Christmas, I like to play and see the special atmosphere in the stadiums, particularly on Boxing Day, when I’m sure Old Trafford will be full of kids. This is one of the most special games of the season and, no doubt, one of the symbols of the Premier League. We will try to have a great day by winning against Newcastle.

As I cannot go to Spain, my family comes over to spend these days with me, and the house gets full with my cousins, aunts and uncles… We always enjoy and have a great time all together; during the rest of year is more complicated…

Leaving England now, I want to congratulate Real Madrid for the Club World Cup win. They are in a very good form, as they showed during the tournament. Congratulations!

In the Spanish la Liga, I’m happy to see that Valencia close the year with three points and good expectations ahead of 2015. I’m sure the new year will bring success to my former team.

Away from football, I kept an eye to the European Women’s Handball Championship final. Beyond the silver medal, the Spanish players showed the importance of being a team with good values and that makes us very proud of them. Congratulations!

This week I’m planning to upload on my social networks a playlist with music from the 60’s and 70’s made with some of your best suggestions. I say goodbye now until next Monday; I hope you enjoy these days with your families!

By the way, which one is the Christmas film that you saw when you were little and have the best memories of? Mine is Home Alone 😉

Hugs and thank you for being always there! Have a great festive season with the ones you love and Merry Christmas to all!
