Spain beats Slovakia in Oviedo (2-0) and is very near going to the Eurocup. Mata did not play.
Spain, thanks to goals from Jordi Alba and Iniesta (penalti), beat Slovakia 2-0 at the Carlos Tartiere. With this score, Del Bosque’s team add up 18 points being first of their group C in a draw with Slovakia. There are still three matches ahead, but Spain’s presence in France’s Eurocup seems quite clear.
Juan Mata went back to the National team a couple of months later in a very special scenary. Oviedo, the city in which he grew up, waited for the possibility of seeing him play. Juan didn’t play and wasn’t even a substitute. Nevertheless, being in Asturias, he hasn’t stopped receiving love from his people. After the match, Mata was TT. Twitter was full of messages asking for more protagonism for United’s player.
Next stop is Skopje. There, Spain will play against Macedonia this Tuesday. A good opportunity to see Juan Mata again with the Spanish shirt.
