Manchester United lost to Borussia Dortmund (1-4) in its first match of the International Champions Cup. The German side took advantage of its better condition to beat the Red Devils in their opening game of the Chinese tour. Juan played the 90 minutes and assisted Mkhitaryan to make the only goal for United, his second assist, in two games, of the preseason.
The intense heat and the humidity influenced the match. Borussia took advantage of this conditions to open the score thanks to Gonzalo Castro, later on Aubameyang doubled the lead after scoring the second from the penalty spot before half time. In the second half United improved a bit but a fantastic individual action from Dembele made the third of the night. United closed the gap thanks to a goal from Mkhitaryan but they could do nothing to avoid Castro´s final goal after and excellent strike.
A game that allows Manchester United to continue with their preparation and hard work to arrive in good condition to dispute the Community Shield, the first official match of the season that will be played on 7 August against Leicester.
