Mata´s stunning goal stretches Spain lead

An early goal from Mata, decisive to beat Macedonia (0-1). The United player has a great record with La Roja: 11 goals in 34 games.

Juan Mata celebrated his return to the Spanish National Team in the best possible way, in the 7 minute the United player took advantage of a rebound after a free kick taken by himself. The second time Mata´s cross-shot, slipped past the Macedonian keeper into the corner of the net. The goal is the eleventh goal in just 34 games. A stunning record for a player who´s not a striker. Spain did not need much more to win at Skopje (0-1).

Juan who did not play last Saturday in Oviedo, started the match trying to get notice. Mata played on the right of the attack, where he linked with Carvajal, cutting in into the middle a few times. His combinations in midfield with Isco, Silva or Cazorla gave Spain the control of the game in the first half.

Mata´s goal reminded us of the goal Jon Andoni Goikoetxea scored to Germany in the 1994 US World Cup. Thanks to him, Spain stretches the lead in the qualifying group for the Eurocup, after Slovakia and Ukrane draw. France is a step closer.
