Juan Mata’s team thrashed Fenerbahçe in the great match of Turkish football (0-3) and increases their advantage as Super League leader to four points. They have a spectacular streak of nine consecutive victories in official matches.
Galatasaray SK imposed its authority. Juan Mata’s team couldn’t have chosen a better rival to extend their winning run (nine in official matches). They swept aside Fenerbahçe on matchday 18 of the Super League (0-3), thanks to goals from Sérgio Oliveira (minute 32), Kerem Aktürkoğlu (78) and Mauro Icardi (in the last minute of stoppage time).
The Ülker Stadyumu hosted a new episode of a historic rivalry; a clash of intercontinental dimension (Galatasaray is based in the European part of Istanbul, while Fenerbahçe belongs to the Asian zone). The game was even until the final stretch, when Okan’s squad imposed its greatest offensive potential.
Juan Mata played the last minutes and had time to participate -indirectly- in the 0-3. His pressure caused the defensive error that Icardi took advantage of when the match was about to end. The victory consolidates Galatasaray’s leadership, which now leads by four points (the team coached by Jorge Jesus).
