Juan Mata inspired Melbourne Victory to a fourth consecutive A-League win, saluting 3-2 against Perth Glory at AAMI Park.
The visitors took the lead through Trent Ostler, but Louis D’Arrigo’s equaliser made it 1–1 and set the tone for Melbourne Victory’s comeback. Mata, who had gone close to scoring in the first half, took control of the game after the break, providing two assists and playing a decisive role in his team’s 3–2 victory. It was the fourth assist in as many A-League matches for the Asturian, who was once again named Man of the Match.
“We are improving. We are playing well and getting results and momentum, but I think we can still do better,” said Mata.
A goal deserving of an EPIC backflip celebration! ⚽️🤸♂️🔥
