Juan Mata seeks semi-final spot in the Australian League

Western Sydney Wanderers wrapped up the regular season with a convincing 3–1 win over Macarthur, sealing the fourth place on the table. That result lines them up for a do-or-die clash to book their place in the semi-finals.

The showdown comes this Saturday, 10 May (kick-off at 7:35pm local time), against Melbourne Victory, who finished just behind in fifth place. Thanks to their stronger league finish, Juan Mata’s side will enjoy home advantage at Commbank Stadium—where a packed crowd is expected to support them. The Wanderers are flying high, unbeaten in their last 12 matches.

Mata, with 22 appearances under his belt in his debut season in Sydney, has his sights set on adding another league title to his glittering career. The Spaniard already boasts silverware from Spain, England, Turkey and Japan.

The semi-finals will take place over the following two weekends in May, played over two legs, with Auckland FC and Melbourne City already through. Fans can catch every moment of the Isuzu UTE A-League action live and free on the league’s official YouTube channel.
