Leadership at stake

Manchester United and Leicester City will meet at the King Power Stadium. A win would allow Juan Mata and his team-mates to climb up to first place in the Premier League table.

With leadership of the Premier League table up for grabs, United and Leicester will face off this Saturday at the King Power Stadium (17.30 local time). Juan Mata, who has started every match in this competition this season, will try to be decisive in a match which has grown in importance after City and Arsenal slipped up during the previous round of fixtures. If United impose themselves upon Ranieri’s side, they will place themselves at the head of the table.

Juan has only tested himself against Leicester on a handful of occasions. His best memory against Leicester comes from the FA Cup campaign of the 2011-12 season, when Chelsea became champions of the competition. His assist to Cahill, with a corner kick, kickstarted Chelsea’s rout in the quarter-finals of the tournament (5-2). Last season, with United, he won one match and lost the other against the Foxes.

Leicester, the surprise outfit in the Premier League this season, will be very tough opponents, as Mata warned in his last blog entry. A United win would provide a nice tribute to George Best during the week which marks ten years since he passed away.
