Man United saves a point in a thrilling match

Red Devils drew against Liverpool at Old Trafford (1-1). Juan Mata played the second half and participated in the final siege. United hadn’t been defeated in Premier since the 23rd of October and has currently played 16 matches without losing.

Manchester United drew against Liverpool at Old Trafford (1-1) in an intense and emotional match until the end. Mata wasn’t a starter but participated in the last stage of the match when the locals insisted on Mignolet’s goal. This score ends with the winning streak of Man U (9 consecutive wins), although the Red Devils have been undefeated for 16 games. United hadn't been beaten in Premier since October 23 (week 9). Unlike the two last games, in FA Cup and EFL Cup (an assist and a goal), Juan started on the bench against one of his favourites victims (3 goals and two assists in the last four duels against Liverpool in Premier). Mourinho called him after the 0-1 (penalty scored by Milner). United needed to generate chances to draw. Martial left the pitch on the 65′ and Mata’s combinations with Valencia on the right wing were of great danger for Liverpool. The 1-1 was scored in one of those game plays on the right, and Ibrahimovic scored the equalizer.

This point leaves United at 4 points from the Champions positions. Juan and his teammates will return to the competition next Saturday against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium (now called bet365 for commercial reasons).
