Juan Mata had a very positive experience in August, training with the Danish club FC Nordsjaelland. The Spanish footballer accepted an invitation to join the first team, an excellent opportunity that he used to get in shape and gain first-hand knowledge of the club’s culture, which is part of the Common Goal movement.
Nordsjaelland, located in Farum, near Copenhagen, is a very special club as it allows young African players to pursue a professional football career through the Right to Dream Academy, thereby improving their lives. This purpose aligns perfectly with the philosophy of Common Goal.
Juan met many of these players and helped them focus on their daily routines, offering his experience to the team during training sessions. Nordsjaelland, which played in the Champions League during the 2012-13 season, has started the season on a positive note, remaining unbeaten at their home ground, instilling hope and optimism among the fans.
“Many thanks to Right to Dream and especially to FCN for inviting me to train with them over the past few weeks. It has been a very positive experience to get to know the club’s extraordinary culture first-hand while helping me maintain my fitness and prepare in the best possible way for the professional challenges ahead. Best of luck to the club this season, and thank you again.”
