Western Sydney Wanderers beat Adelaide United 2-3 away in the final game of 2024 for Juan Mata’s side. It was a tightly controlled match in which the visitors came from 2-0 down to move up to fifth place in the Australian League on a provisional basis.
Adelaide United were chasing the lead and pulled two goals back on the half-hour mark, but the Wanderers pulled one back before the break. Antonsson’s goal was the prelude to the equaliser, which came in the 49th minute. Juan Mata came on in the 75th minute and his side made it 2-3 soon after through Kraev.

The two consecutive wins allow the Asturian’s side to finish the year in a good position and prepare for the start of 2025 with optimism. Their next match will be on 1 January at home to Macarthur.
