Manchester United with Juan Mata as a starter was defeated at Old Trafford against Norwich (1-2). The Asturian played all 90 minutes and created danger on the second half.
Manchester United lost against Norwich City (1-2) at Old Trafford. Juan Mata was a starter and played the whole 90 minutes. His quality nearly made the equalizer on the second half. Van Gaal positioned Mata as the central playmaker. Juan attacked alongside with Martial, Depay and Rooney, who came back after his injury.
Mata volunteered many times. His attitude is usually good in spite of his accuracy. During the first 45 minutes he ran with the ball during plenty of metres and chipped the ball into the rival box. On the second half, after Martial scored the 1-2, he tested Rudd with a free kick. In extra time, he assisted Smalling with quality, but the centreback’s header went off target. Juan concluded the match with an 86% passing success.
“We feel deeply sorry for the fans”, said Mata. “I think they’re incredible, so we have to do better for them”. Red Devils next match will be on Saturday 26 against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium. Then, on the 28 they’ll host Chelsea.
