An unexpected draw

United, with Mata in the line-up, dropped two points against Stoke City in an odd game. Juan participated in some of the best chances for United that could have scored a few goals before the final 1-1.

Manchester United drew at home to Stoke City (1-1). A surprising result taking account of the many opportunities Juan and his team-mate had. The Spaniard started again playing behind the strikers and was the protagonist of the first half where the locals could have sentenced the game.

The main reason to have ended the first half 0-0 was Lee Grant, Stoke’s keeper who made a string of good saves. Juan himself proved that inspiration as he tried to chipped the ball over the keeper, but Grant reacted with a fine save. Minutes earlier Mata had participated in one of the best chances but Pogba missed the target.

In the second half Stoke played better, but Martial netted the first for United after a stunning strike in the 69 minute. The game seemed to be under control but Joe Allen, in the 82 minute, scored the equaliser after an unfortunate action.
