The final score (3-1) broke United’s momentum, a team that came from beating Juventus at Turin with a great goal from Mata.
United was performing quite well lately in the Premier (3 wins and a draw in the last 4 matches), but couldn’t beat the leaders. Juan came in on the 73′, minutes after Martial could score the 2-1 from the penalty spot. As usual, Mata moved throughout the whole pitch and mostly in the attacking positions. He asked for the ball and tried to give some clarity to the team. Nevertheless, City took advantage of United’s spaces on their search of a second goal. Gündogan’s goal sentenced the match.
With this new international team break , Juan Mata and teammates won’t play again until the 24th of November, day in which they will play against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.
