A goal from Gomis gave Galatasaray the qualification for the round of 16 in the Turkish Cup. Juan Mata, in the starting XI again, played 71 minutes. The next challenge will be on Sunday but this time in the Super League.
Galatasaray SK will be in the round of 16 of the Turkish Cup. In the first official game after the break due to the World Cup in Qatar, the team led by Okan Buruk beat Keciörengücü (1-0), a team from the second division of Turkish football. Juan Mata participated in the victory thanks to his presence in the starting XI.
Tonight’s Cup clash was highly disputed. Galatasaray missed a penalty in the first half and was unable to take the lead against the Ankara club until 82 min. In addition, since Bafétimbi Gomis’s goal until the end of the match, both teams had the option to change the score.
