Juan Mata was once more a key player for United. A low pass from a free kick taken by Mata was transformed by Blind to give United the lead. It was in the 49 minute of the game against Liverpool. The goal opened the score and eased a game that ended 0-0 in the first half.
As usual, Van Gaal played Juan on the right. The Spaniard showed again his talent with a 83% pass accuracy. His most important pass was the one that ended in Blind’s goal. The pass, from a free kick, to the edge of the area while the Liverpool defense expected a cross to the centre of the area. Unites No 8 already has three assists since the start of the season. (Two in the Premier and one in Champions).
This time, Mata did not play the complete match. Juan left the pitch in the 65 minute replaced by Martial. Herrera and Martial scored the second and the third goal. But before that, De Gea showed his quality. The victory allows United not to loose City and Arsenal pace, while awaits their debut in the group stage of the Champions next Tuesday in Eindhoven.
