Juan Mata assists on Premier’s debut

Manchester United won 2-1 against Leicester at Old Trafford. A pass from the international Spaniard to Luke Shaw ended up with the second goal for the locals. Juan, who was very active, also had a chance to score and played the whole match.

Manchester United debuted on the 2018/19 Premier League with a win at Old Trafford (2-1) against Leicester City. Mata, a starter in 5 out of 6 pre-season matches, started the League being part of the initial 11 players. He performed quite well, playing the whole match and giving an assist to Luke Shaw for United’s second goal (83′). Pogba scored the 1-0 very early and Vardy made the 2-1 in stoppage time.

Juan confronted Leicester, a team that brought back good memories. He won the Community Shield of 2016/17 against Leicester and he has scored 4 goals against the same team being a Red Devil (2 of them last season). On this week 1 he was just about to score again, but a shot from him on the second half hit Morgan’s arm and the ball went out.

The game of the international Spaniard is crucial for United’s creation of chances, as seen in last year’s season, being the only one in the team to create more than 40 chances in the Premier League. In fact, he created 51. Man United’s next match is due for Sunday 19, day in which they’ll visit Brighton.
