Juan’s goal, key for the win at St. Mary’s

Mata scored the third goal for United at Southampton’s stadium. The 2-3 final score, with a great performance from De Gea, leave the Red Devils in the race for the Premier.

Manchester United came back from St. Mary’s stadium with an important win at a difficult stadium. Southampton got ahead first, two goals from Martial (first of them with Mata’s contribution) turned the score over and Juan, on the 68′, killed the locals. Pellè’s goal on the 86′ only served to embellish the final score.

Juan Mata was placed on the right wing again after playing as a centre-forward in Eindhoven. The Spaniard protagonised several good plays apart from his goal. In one of them, on the first half, assisted Depay with quality, which he headed off target. Juan’s goal came after taking advantage of a post after a shot, precisely, from the Dutch player. An opportunistic goal, after an incredible 45-pass move, that reafirms Juan’s goal instinct.

Mata, with a 96% of passing accuracy, demonstrates his effectiveness as a playmaker. The win against Southampton, with a great performance from De Gea, leaves United with 13 points. They are in second position, two points behind City. The Red Devils promiss to fight for the title.
