United drew at Club Brugge in Belgium (1-1), in the first leg of the last 32 of the Europa League. Juan Mata played the 90 minutes and grew in importance in the second half.
Juan Mata’s Manchester United obtained a valuable draw from Jan Breydelstadion (1-1). In the first leg of the last 32 of the Europa League, the Club Brugge took the lead after 15 minutes thanks to Dennis goal, but Martial scored the equaliser in the 36th minute and hit the post before the break.
Juan started for the fifth time in the seven games played by the English team in the competition. His impact in the game grew in the second half. The Spaniard had a chance to score after a good combination with Martial and was involved in most of the United attacks. He finished with three shots and 84% completed passes.
This result, in addition to the advantage that it entails for the second leg, adds a very positive statistic for the Red Devils. They have a run of eleven games unbeaten in a knockout stage of the Europa League (tournament they won in 2017).

We believe we can win at home and we can go through,
Mata told MUTV. I think in the second half we played better. We played more in their half and had chances to maybe score the second after they had started well,
he added. Manchester United’s next appointment will be on Sunday at Old Trafford, against Watford.
