Mata starts the American tour with an assist

Schneiderlin took advantage of a ball crossed by Juan to score the winning goal against Club America.

Juan Mata showed his talent once again with just 5 minutes gone in United first match of the American tour. A loose ball after a corner kick taken by Young ended in Mata’s feet who put a perfect cross to Morgan Schneiderlin’s head, one of the summer transfers for the Red Devils. The French player headed the ball into the net, 0-1, giving United a narrow win against Club América.

Juan played the first 45 minutes of the game that took place in Seattle. The mexican team was the first test for United in the International Champions Cup. It was clear the English side was not in form yet, although they won without much effort. Mata, on the other hand, was one of the best of the team. He could have scored in the 14th minute, but Hugo González, keeper’s rival, denied the Spaniard. As the rest of his team mates that started the game, Van Gaal replace Juan after the end of the first half, Andreas Pereira substituted him.

Next United match will be 21 July at 20 pm (early Wednesday morning in Europe) against San José Earthquakes at the Avaya Stadium. After that, the Red Devils will play Barcelona and PSG.
