Mata´s romance with the FA Cup

Juan scored a great goal from a free-kick in United victory away against Shrewsbury Town (0-3). He already counts eight goals and assisted nine times in the eighteen games of the FA Cup. United will play West Ham in the last eight of the competition at Old Trafford.

8 goals and 9 assists in 18 games, those are Juan Mata´s numbers in the FA Cup. A competition that the Spaniard conquered back in 2012 with Chelsea, and wants to win it as a Red Devil. At the moment, ManU has secured a place in the next round after beating Shrewsbury Town (0-3), with one goal from Mata.

Juan scored in stoppage time of the first half. Martial was fouled on the edge of the area and Mata converted from free-kick. Mata´s left foot did the rest. A smart free-kick impossible for the keeper, Leutwiler. Mata and Smalling, who scored earlier in the game, help United ease in to the quarter-finals.

In the second half, Lingard scored the 3-0 just before Mata was replaced by Andreas Pereira. Juan left the pitch with a 91.5 % pass accuracy and a goal. Also the fans chose him as the MVP of the game. ManU will face West ham in the last eight at Old Trafford.
