Juan Mata’s autobiography is one of the finalists in its category within the prestigious ‘The Telegraph Sports Book Awards’. The winners will be announced on 15 July.
In the week in which Juan will return to duty with Manchester United, Mata has received a very special distinction. ‘The Telegraph Sports Book Awards’ has included his book ‘Suddenly a footballer’ in the final list of nominees for best international autobiography in 2020. These famous awards recognise each year, in different categories, the quality of stories related to sports.

‘Suddenly a footballer’ is one of five finalists in the ‘Pinsent Masons International Autobiography of the Year 2020’ category. Along with his book, this exclusive list includes works by personalities related to swimming, cricket, rugby and football (Per Mertesacker autobiography). The winner’s name will be known on 15 July. It will be made public on the Internet, given the impossibility of carrying out the ceremony normally as in previous years.
