ManU, with Mata in the line-up, beat Everton in their trip to Goodinson Park (0-3). Juan was substituted at the break when the score was 0-2. The next challenge for United will be on Wednesday against CSKA in Moscow.
United responded as a winning team after the defeat at the Emirates. Van Gaal’s side, with Mata once more in the starting XI, cruised past Everton at Goodison Park (0-3) and got close to City’s first place. Juan played the first 45 minutes and was replaced by Lingard at half time when the score was favourable to United (0-2).
After the international break, in which Mata was also the centre of attention, the Spanish midfielder played a fantastic 45 minutes in the attack. His combinations with Rooney, Martial and Ander Herrera -with whom Juan connects perfectly- complicated the game for Everton. The situation resulted in a two goal lead for United after just 22 minutes gone, with goals from Schneiderlin -in an action created by Mata- and Herrera.
In the second half, Rooney netted the third and De Gea became Lukaku’s nightmare. Juan saw everything that happened from the bench. Mata needs some rest after a few intense weeks, even more, if there is a trip to Moscow just round the bend. Next Wednesday United face CSKA in a crucial game of Champions League.
