A goal from Van Aanholt gave the win to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford (1-2). With Juan in the pitch, Manchester United was able to even the match but the visitors made the second goal in one of the last chances of the match.
Manchester United lost their first match in the Premier League. On the third game week the Red Devils conceded a 1-2 at Old Trafford against Crystal Palace. Juan Mata came into the pitch on the 85' with o-1 on the score. Just after his appearance, Daniel James evened the match with a great goal. Man U kept on attacking looking for the three points leaving some spaces behind for Crystal Palace, who took advantage of it and scored the 1-2 on the 93' thanks to Van Aanholt.
Man United started the match dominating the rival, but an isolated play from Palace ended up with a goal from Jordan Ayew on the 32'. This action changed the match completely. Minutes later, with a shocked United, De Gea saved a second goal from Palace.
After the break, United dominated again. They had several chances to score (the best one was a penalty from Rashford that hit Guaita's post), but the 1-1 didn't come until the last minutes. An ephimeral happiness that ended with the 1-2 from Van Aanholt.
In a week's time, on Saturday 31st, Manchester United will play the Premier League again. On that day they'll try to return to the patch of winning against Southampton away.
