Manchester United lost at Old Trafford to West Ham (0-1) and is already out from the EFL Cup in the third round. In the second game in a few days with the London team as opponents, the Red Devils could not overcome Lanzini’s goal at the beginning of the duel (minute 9).

Juan Mata started the game and starred in some of United’s most dangerous chances during his time on the field. With more than 80% pass accuracy, he generated three opportunities for his teammates. Sancho shot wide after a brilliant delivery from Juan over the West Ham defence in one of them. Shortly after Lanzini’s goal, the ‘8’ nearly scored the equaliser with a spectacular effort that ended up off the crossbar of the rival’s goal.

In the 62nd minute, the Spanish international left the pitch replaced by Greenwood. Manchester United continued to seek the equaliser until the end, a circumstance that Moyes’s team took advantage of to organise dangerous counterattacks. Despite the opportunities of both teams, the score did not change.
